Burgie’s Coffee

A local favorite with two Ames locations, north and south. Known for smooth coffee from Windmill Roasters, a real breakfast and lunch menu, and a thoughtful modern space that works for both quick stops and longer visits.

Cafe Milo

A student favorite on Mortensen Road. Quiet atmosphere, low prices, and cinnamon rolls regulars swear by, one of the best places in Ames to settle in and get work done.

Morning Bell Coffee Roasters

Downtown on Main Street, roasting their own beans in house. One of the most serious coffee programs in Ames, with a clean, bright space that’s great for a focused cup or a catch up with a friend.

Cafe Diem

A spacious downtown spot with comfy booths, a full food menu, and the latest hours in Ames. Best for group study sessions, family brunch, and anyone who wants flexibility.

A Campustown spot that works well as a coffee shop, restaurant, and cocktail bar. Counter Culture Coffee, one of the best iced vanilla lattes in Ames, and a beautiful patio. Best for sit down meals, evening drinks, and slow visits with a friend.
